Planning your next façade clean.
Practical planning guidance from CCS.

Understand the building first
Façade materials, height, geometry and condition all influence the approach to exterior cleaning. Gather available drawings, photographs and access information before discussing the work.
Assess access and surroundings
An access method must suit the task and the actual site. Consider surrounding walkways, entrances, neighbouring activity and any restrictions on the working area. Final arrangements should follow a site assessment.
Coordinate the working window
Discuss the timing with the people managing the building. Occupant needs, public access, weather conditions and operational requirements can all affect when work can proceed.
Define the expected finish
Agree which surfaces are included and note any pre-existing damage or staining. Different materials may require different methods; assumptions should be resolved before activity starts.
Prepare for handover
Plan how the completed areas will be reviewed and how any findings will be communicated. Cleaning may reveal maintenance issues that need a separate assessment and scope.
